We are pleased to share an invitation from our member company SK&S.
SK&S law firm invites you to a business breakfast meeting dedicated to the following topics:
IP rights to AI-generated works in transactional practice
An increasing number of innovations and new technologies developed within portfolio companies—including works (such as computer programs), inventions, utility models and industrial designs, as well as trade secrets, confidential know-how and databases - are now created with the assistance of AI tools. However, global case law has yet to provide clear answers as to who owns the rights to such assets and under what circumstances.
This creates a real risk that a key investment asset may not be legally protectable at all.
During the meeting, legal counsel Marek Oleksyn and attorney-at-law Maciej Gil will discuss the main areas of risk and practical approaches to addressing the challenges posed by AI-generated creations in transactional practice.
Cross-border transfer of IP rights in transactions
Marek Oleksyn and Maciej Gil will explain why, in cross-border transactions, a contractual clause providing for the transfer of IP rights may not be sufficient on its own. They will discuss the requirements that need to be considered depending on the type of innovation or new technology involved, particularly in asset deals. They will also highlight the key issues to consider when transferring rights to these assets.
