November 21 2024

The Belgian Business Chamber cordially invites you to a two-day online training titled "Legal Due Diligence of Real Estate," which will take place on November 21st and 22nd (Wednesday and Thursday), 2024, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Legal due diligence of real estate is one of the first and certainly one of the most important stages in the execution of a development project or the acquisition or financing of real estate. The purpose of due diligence is to identify risks associated with the acquisition or financing of real estate. Proper and thorough examination of the legal status allows for an informed decision regarding project implementation, enables the adoption of appropriate measures to eliminate or mitigate identified risks, and determines further steps related to the investment, such as the content of transaction documents or project structuring.

During the training, they will share their knowledge and experience gained from many years of cooperation with investors and developers executing real estate projects. They will outline the standard scope of real estate due diligence and the documents that are analyzed during the process. They will present the due diligence methodology and highlight the most common irregularities, particularly title defects. They will also provide guidance on how to eliminate or mitigate the risks associated with identified irregularities.

The training is especially targeted at board members and senior management of developers, investors, or banks and other entities offering financing for real estate projects, directors and members of development/investment departments, project managers, and legal department employees of such entities.
