"New Opening: Europe, Poland, Local Government" as the Main Theme of the 6th Real Estate Congress

The 6th Real Estate Congress will take place on October 3rd at ICE Kraków and is the most important and largest event in the real estate sector in Poland. The special guest will be José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission from 2004-2014 and Prime Minister of Portugal from 2004-2008.

This year’s edition, themed "New Opening: Europe, Poland, Local Government," comes at a pivotal moment: Poland has been a member of the European Union for exactly 20 years, and issues such as housing availability, urban planning, and sustainable construction are taking a central role in public discourse. As in previous editions, this year’s event will feature numerous discussion panels with prominent guests—both Polish and international—representing government sectors, local authorities, academia, and experts from various agencies collaborating with the construction industry.

The event is organized by the Polish Union of Developers (PZFD). According to Małgorzata Klich, President of PZFD Kraków and Member of the PZFD Board, the Real Estate Congress in Kraków is a great opportunity for dialogue with public representatives at both government and local levels. "Equally important is the dialogue with the public side, represented by city activists as well as councilors, who are, after all, representatives of residents. To build better cities, collaboration between all urban actors is necessary—residents, activists, officials, and investors. We hope that the Real Estate Congress in Kraków will lay the foundation for such cooperation across the country."

The event's program will focus on three perspectives: European (legislative changes, climate change, development strategies, and EU priorities), Polish (housing policies, developmental and social programs), and local government (urban planning and city development, quality, and standards of new residential estates). There will also be presentations of the latest market and social research, as well as technological innovations.
