Poland and Belgium Strengthen Defence Ties

Poland and Belgium strengthen defence ties

On 12 May 2025, at the MESKO plant in Skarżysko-Kamienna, Belgian Minister of Defence Theo Francken and Polish Minister of Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz signed a letter of intent confirming Belgium’s plans to purchase several hundred Polish-made PIORUN short-range air defense systems.

This step marks a significant deepening of bilateral military cooperation between our countries and reflects a shared commitment to strengthening regional and European security. It is a clear signal of growing trust and operational synergy between the two NATO allies, aimed at enhancing the security of both countries and of Europe as a whole.
