Better moods among entrepreneurs - results of the 2024 business sentiment survey

A recent survey, conducted by AHK Polska in collaboration with various chambers of commerce including the Belgian Business Chamber (BBC), indicates a positive outlook amidst economic challenges.

 

"The survey results indicate a revival of the economy after a prolonged period of economic downturn observed across Europe, reflecting positive business sentiments," comments Dr. Lars Gutheil, Director of AHK Polska.
 

During the discussion, several guests shared their insights. Katarzyna Byczkowska, President of AHK Polska and representing BASF, highlighted positive sentiment among entrepreneurs and addressed ongoing business challenges. Arkadiusz Stasiak from DHL eCommerce Polska (DHL Parcel) discussed a new investment - an international logistics center in Poznań - emphasizing Poland's infrastructural advantages and growing trade and e-commerce exchanges with Germany. Arkadiusz Krzesniak, the Chief Economist at Deutsche Bank, commented on Poland's investment attractiveness, noting its third-place ranking in the Central and Eastern Europe region. He compared Poland's economy with Estonia and Lithuania, emphasizing its stability, size, and human capital availability. Stefano Petroni, representing HTL-STREFA, Inc., discussed the economic future of Poland and the EU, emphasizing the significance of China's development for global markets and potential opportunities for Europe amidst these changes. He stressed the need for financial market development to support investments effectively and improve workforce availability.

 

Here are a few results from the survey:

ECONOMIC CONDITION IN POLAND

After 2023, there was a significant drop in the assessments characterizing the economy as poor. In 2023, it stood at 33.6%, whereas in 2024, it was only 12.8%. However, there was an increase in the percentage of responses indicating a satisfactory or good state of the economy

 

TURNOVER IN THE COMPANY (comparison with the previous year)

44.4% of respondents predict that turnover in the company will increase compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, 2/5 of those surveyed expect turnover to remain at a similar level.

 

BUSINESS CONDITION OF THE COMPANY (comparison with the previous year)

Almost two-thirds of respondents, when asked about the business situation of their company, stated that they do not expect any changes compared to the previous year - 63.4%. One in four believes that the situation will improve (26.2%).
